Rare vintage Citizen Jet Auto Dater 35 Jewels, Automatic, 14K 80 Microns GOLD.

A number of watch companies – mostly Swiss – began to experiment with the geared rotor movement as far back as the late 1940’s.  Citizen followed suit in the early 1950’s, but it wasn’t until 1958 that they developed and built what they felt was a market-ready version of the movement.  Informally named the Jet series, honoring the arrival of what had become known as the ‘Jet Age,’ the earliest production models were released in very limited numbers, starting in 1959.
